SCM is proud to present our 2018-2019 Focused Seminars. The 16th annual Focused Seminars provide all attendees with legal updates, case reviews, practical tips and guidance, and useful written material to guide them throughout the year.

These Focused Seminars are planned for Superintendents, School Committee members, Pupil Personnel and Special Education Directors, Principals, Assistant Principals, Educators, Team Chairpersons, and other School Leaders who need to know the latest developments in Education Law.

Seminar tuition cost and registration

We offer these registration options for each seminar:

(1) For participants who are clients of Stoneman, Chandler and Miller LLP:
$125 per participant per session; 
Four or more participants from a district, $85 each per session.

(2) For other participants:
$175 per participant per session;
Four or more participants from a district, $135 each per session.

(3) Written Materials:
For those who cannot attend, written materials can be purchased for $75.

Please note that applicable client discounts will be applied to your final invoice.



A Focused Seminar for new practitioners and those who want a refresher

• Section 504/Title II: Understanding a public school’s obligations: free appropriate public education (FAPE), evaluations, expanded eligibility criteria, appropriate services/accommodations, and procedures

• The essential guide to IDEA: referral, evaluation, Team composition, eligibility meeting, predetermination, independent educational evaluations, placement, transition, FAPE, N1 form & IEP pointers and procedures

• Navigating the basics of disciplining students with disabilities
