The National Labor Relations Board (the “NLRB”) last week announced that it is delaying until January 31, 2012, the effective date of the new rule requiring employers to post a notice of employees’ rights to organize a union. The original rule, which was the subject of a previous Client Alert on September 19th, required employers to post the notice by November 14, 2011. According to the NLRB, it has delayed the posting requirement to allow “enhanced education and outreach to employers” about the new rule. However, the NLRB has not announced any specific plans for such education and outreach at this time.
